    • Jun 23rdUsing Online Video: 10 Tips To Help You Out

      Tweet Pin It

Here Are Ten Tips To Help You Use Online Video In Your Blog Or Business.

Do you like to blog? Whether it is for fun or profit, blogs can be fun. But maybe your blog has lost some of its pizazz. Well my friend, here are some tips to help you incorporate online video into your content to add a little pick me up to an otherwise blah article.

       1. Don’t Use The TV Approach

People don’t want to be sold, so don’t use online video to make commercials, use it to provide content. They want your content to be informative and entertaining, not ‘salesy’. They want to know what kind of product you offer, does it work, what your core values are, and make it easy to find. Online video enables you to provide all that in a very short amount of time.

      Online Video

      Online Video

Keep videos that you put online short and to the point. People have a short attention span and if you don’t capture their attention within the first 5-10 seconds, they will leave. Make your online video entertaining and they will stay longer on your page.

      2. If You Want Validation, Let Your Customers Do The Talking

The best salesman is a happy customer. Make them happy, they will tell their friends, and they will tell theirs, and so on. But the same is also true in reverse. You know the old saying that “One bad apple spoils the whole bunch”, well that definitely applies here.
You see it all the time in business, just ask people which restaurant to go to and they will tell you who has good food, who has good service, and who sucks. You don’t want to be in the “You Suck” category. Ask satisfied customers to do a testimonial for you and post it on your page. An online video will do wonders if it speaks well of you.

       3. For Best Results Make Sure You Optimize Your Video Content For SEO

One of the most exciting aspects of online video is its SEO opportunities. If your video is submitted properly with tags and descriptions, it is 50 times more likely to hit the front page of Google. And when done right, the competition is far less fierce in most all categories. Video is the definite way to go if you want to rank in website traffic.

      4. When Permissible, Premium Video Content Is A Big Plus

When it comes to online video content, the simple low-budget look is fine for most applications. But if you are big company, or want to really kick it up a notch, your above the fold video content should look and feel professional.
Look at it from your prospective clients eyes; it will be the first video they click on when they come to your site, and you want to make a lasting impression. If it is unprofessional and sloppy, with bad sound and out of focus frames, what will they think about the rest of your company?

      5. Online Videos Are Made To Be Shared

One of the fastest ways to generate followers and good relations with others in business is to share videos. If you find something your customers would like, share it on your site pages. But never use someone else’s content to promote yourself or your product.
This will keep your site interesting and valuable to your customers. And always give credit to the producer of the content and only use it to focus on something that is flattering, informative, and positive.

      6. Stay Consistent

Always putting up fresh content is what keeps your site alive. Promote interaction by constantly updating the content on your site. Simple online video updates can have a big impact on your site activity. Give them a sneak peek at upcoming developments or short updates on local highlights. It gives them a reason to return to your site. Even short clips like this will capture their attention.

       7. What’s Going On Behind The Scenes

Online video provides an excellent opportunity for any business to open the doors to the public. Show them your office, let them meet your team; it provides an important means of building trust within your following.

       8. People Like To Share

With one click of a button, your customer can share your online video content with everyone. Make that option available to them with social share buttons for Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, or any other social site available. This will insure that your content is developing both on and off your website.

      9. Make Sure Your Video Is On Every Page

Assumptions are the mother of all evil. So never assume they will fall on your main page. Have a link to your online video on every page, or better yet, have the actual video on every page. Having a video on your page will ensure that the perspective client will stay longer, as the play button is one of the most compelling calls to action there is. So take advantage of it.

      10. Don’t Have A Customer Service Desk; Use Your Video

Set up your FAQ’s in a video, and answer some of the most asked questions that are presented by your customers. This will provide a 24/7 customer service desk and will be more useful than any manual or phone call they could make. And it has zero cost to operate and never stops working for you.

    • May 10thBeing Consistent Will Help Stop The Dreaded “I Don’t Want To’s”

      Tweet Pin It

Being consistent is hard work, but it can be of great help when it comes to stopping the dreaded “I don’t
      want to’s”.

      Being Consistent

      Being Consistent

We crave consistency from others and we want to believe them and trust them, but
when their actions differ from their words, we are not sure what to believe. Generally speaking, actions speak louder than words.

As 2012 starts into full swing, many of us are making new personal goals, launching new
business plans, making commitments to new resolutions, and planning other ways to get a fresh start on what we want to achieve this year, being consistent can be a big issue this time of year.

There is a wonderful quote on being consistent by the great Ralph Waldo Emerson from his essay “Self-Reliance” where he writes “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines.” A hobgoblin by the way (from Wikipedia – Hobgoblin is a term typically applied in folktales to describe a friendly but troublesome creature of the Seelie Court. The most commonly known hobgoblin is the character Puck in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Let’s Talk About Why Being Consistent Is So Important

OK, here we go on the matter of whats so important in being consistent. What can you do when you are not being particularly inspired about writing a piece of content?

I can always find something to blog about, and it isn’t the lack of time. It only takes about an hour to create a post, and sometimes even less. So what holds you back from being consistent? The truth? Little weird thoughts in the back of your mind that you need to create something “significant” or “outstanding”.

The thought that something has to be perfect is just plain silly. You may make a blog post that isn’t quite up to your ‘standards’, so you let it sit in draft form and never publish it. “Pulitzer Prize” content isn’t going to happen very often, if at all, but that doesn’t mean that the rest of your posts are just “filler”. You may have an exceptional piece come out every now and then, but don’t neglect your other posts in spite of it.

So Why Is Being Consistent So Important

The big “numero uno” reason for being consistent; your readers want to hear from you. Our opinions, what we are thinking and doing, and how it can solve their problems or how it relates to them, is why they read your content.

Dropping out of the scene and being ‘silent’ will lose engagement with those you do have, and the rapport you built with them will be given to someone else as they search for a way to fill the void.

Your absence will also be picked up by Google if you have a drop in being consistent. Your content frequency changes will affect you crawl frequency, so if you blog daily, they will crawl your site daily and it will show in your indexing and links.

If You’re Not Feeling Brilliant It’s Hard Being Consistent

I know it is hard at times to feel like you are firing on all cylinders, but I guess you could write about not feeling brilliant. ;) LOL.

You can also share content you are reading, such as maybe the “top 5 blogs”, or post out some great photos, or maybe share a YouTube video; anything you think your readers might enjoy.

If you know any high profile people, you may want to do an interview, with maybe five
intriguing questions and answers on a subject that would be of interest to your readers. Not sure what they want to hear, just ask them. Post a questionnaire on Facebook, asking what their “top 5 questions” they want answered are.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this subject. Do you ever struggle with writers block,
perfectionism, or the lack of time and topics? What holds you back on YOUR blogging?

Leave me your questions or opinions in the comments box and maybe you will see them in my next post.

Everything if you {want|desire|need} to be consistent and are in the {internet|online|network} marketing business or are thinking of starting your own business. Without {utilizing|using|making use of} some of the tools that are available to you in today’s market, you will be working way too hard. Today it is all about working smarter, not harder. How Will These Tools Aid in Being Consistent

So how {can|do|will} these tools help in being consistent?
Onlywire.com links to 45 different social websites, and you can add as many Facebook links as you have pages and groups. It is a one-time setup, does the captcha codes for you, and {submits|publishes} your links and posts to all these sites with the {click|push|touch} of a button.
Ping.fm is another tool that is very {useful|helpful} that builds backlinks to your {pages|posts|blog} and {site|website}. It has 15 different social media sites and a {myriad|host|bunch} of other services, such as submitting your RSS feeds, and even {mobile|cellular|mobile phone} applications.
Article Marketing Robot, or ARM, is {another|a great|a super} tool that will blow your mind. It can {literally|actually|easily} spin out dozens and dozens of variations of your post, something that you would have to have a {huge|very large|big} team of people doing for you to try to match. I {don’t know|am not sure} about you, but I don’t have a {huge|big|large} team of people available to me, do you?
One free little tool I love to use are sticky notes. Not the paper kind, because they eventually run out, or get lost. I am {talking about|speaking about|referring to} the kind that most of us have right on our computer. Just go to ‘All Programs’, scroll down to ‘accessories’, and then {go|scroll} down to ‘sticky notes’. They will {stay|remain|display} on your desk top until you {remove|delete|erase} them and are very convenient for keeping reminders right there where you can see them.

Do You Understand Personal Attraction And Know What The Source Is?

      Personal Attraction

      Personal Attraction

Personal attraction to most people is a myth, the Bigfoot of marketing. Why? Because it is not duplicatable. You have all these people out there telling you that all you have to do is do everything they do and you will make it to the big times. BAH!

99% of these people never achieve a full time income, so do you really want to duplicate them? Hell no.

So what do you do to get out of this follow me rut and get noticed? Here is the catalyst that will make all the difference in how you look at things; stop chasing and get them to chase you.

Do You Know How To Get People To Chase You?

So what is it about personal attraction that makes someone want to pursue others? Why are groupies so irrationally drawn to movie stars and rockers?

Why are the top earners in your company the most sought after to work with?
How do you get that rock star status and become the pursued?

Human Psychology Holds The Answers, So We Start There

To understand how personal attraction is created, we need to know a little bit about human psychology. This is the core of one to one attraction.

Keep this in mind though; We Do Not Have A Choice In What Attracts Us.

      [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHIUsQczDtQ?rel=0]

Biologically, it is an instinctual trigger that has been developed and evolved over millions of years, and it has helped keep us alive, but it is never fully understood until you study it. That is why social groups are so popular and thriving, because by nature, that is how we develop. We find someone strong enough to lead and we follow them until we are strong enough to break out to lead our own groups.
It is the classic Alpha, Beta characteristics design, and the Alpha’s are the leaders, typically because they are the strongest and most dominant of the group.

There are two very important lessons that can be learned here:
      1. If you have leadership qualities and high personal value, people will subconsciously follow you.
      2. To make it big in anything in life, whether it is in business or life in general, you have to develop those characteristics and become a leader with value to offer others.

People will not join a business, but they WILL join with YOU.

Personal Attraction Characteristics Has Three Categories; Alphas, Pre-Alphas, and Betas

Wondering which category you fit into? You need to take a hard look at where you sit right now and be honest about it. Let’s think about them like this; there are leaders, up-and-coming leaders, and followers. Each has benefits and abilities, or the lack of them, to the individuals within them.
Where would you put yourself? Want to take a little test to find out? Not very scientific, but it is pretty effective.
Next time you are in a busy public place, find someone attractive of the opposite sex and make direct eye contact. Who looked away first? If it was you, then most likely you are Beta or Pre-Alpha mindset. If you held until the other looked away, then you are most likely Alpha. How did it make you feel doing this little test, did you wonder what they thought about you? If so, then you fit the Beta or Pre-Alpha group. Alpha’s never think about what someone else thinks of them, and that is the mind set you have to attain.
Don’t worry if you didn’t fit the Alpha right away. Leaders aren’t born that way; they develop into that state of mind. When it comes to personal attraction, belief always comes before results.

Do You Have a Big To-Do List or Is It a Not To-Do List

The To-Do or Not To-Do ListDo you get frustrated, wigged out, depressed, or feel pressured because your to-do list is so big, or do you call it your not to-do list? So many times I see people get all stressed out because they have no idea how they are going to get everything done.
Are you one of those that stresses out because you didn’t get something important done?
Well relax, have a cup of coffee, and just chill for a minute. There are ways to cope with these situations that are a lot easier than you think.

      [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lM-I-pkt21M?rel=0]

Throw Away Your To-Do List Right Now

So you say you have a to-do list that needs to get done, so what! Throw it away right now. We are going to take this one step at a time, and start from scratch. Grab a pen and paper (did you get that cup of coffee), take a deep breath, and let’s get started.
The first thing you need to do is determine what needs to be done right now. And let’s be serious here for a second. I am not talking about rearranging the medicine cabinet or something silly like that. I am talking about the important things, like for instance, do you have a blog? Then make that your number one priority. Or maybe you have kids that are in sports and they have to be at practice or a game at a certain time. If so, make getting them to where they need to be a priority. See my point?

You Need To Prioritize Your List

Now that you have all the important things written down, you need to prioritize your list. Put everything in order of importance, not just the first two or three items. A good way to set priorities is to ask yourself what the impact would be if they don’t get done. And be truthful with yourself, don’t fudge because what you have to do is hard or might take too long.
One way that will help is allow yourself some type of reward for getting things done, even if it just some small token, such as taking 5 minutes to have a cup of coffee in a quiet place. It will really make a big difference in how you approach things during the day.

Make Your To-Do List a DO List

Don’t overload your to-do list; make it a list that you can actually DO. If you have reasonable goals set, it is much easier to accomplish them and get them off your list. My friend Arthur Partridge has a blog that talks about this very thing. He is among other things, a master practitioner of neuro linguistic programming and relates to how this can change even the way we think. Give him some blog love and read his stuff. It is usually pretty short, like my to-do lists are, but speaks volumes.

Blogging, Spoons, And A Stupid Cat

      Father Gander

So what do blogging, spoons, and a stupid cat have in common? Nothing, unless you like to write about things that make people laugh. You see, that is the great thing about writing; you can make the subject be about anything you wish, even spoons or a stupid cat. It is called poetic license, although I am not sure that it applies here, but we’ll give it a shot.

Can a Stupid Cat and Spoons Fit Together?

OK, I admit, this is a rather bizarre subject matter to cover, but if you stick with me (and it might take a smattering of super glue to do that) you will see where I am going with this. I have a rather warped sense of humor at times and never know when a moment will hit me that I will hear something and my brain will twist it like a twizzler stick into something prophetic. This was one of those moments, and it all started with a challenge around the subject of spoons.

My Spoons Blog and a Stupid Cat

I was trying to build a blogging theme aroundspoons, but it just wasn’t coming together until my stupid cat happened to break my concentration (Yeah, it breaks pretty easy sometimes) and I came up with a brilliant plan. An adult nursery rhyme, nothing racy or risqué, but not exactly the kind from childhood memories either. But in order to do this, it is going to have to be in video format to get the real feel for it.

I figure if Mother Goose can do it, so can Father Gander.
